The Original brews more, the Go packs smaller and comes with its own mug. AeroPress lists the Original at $39.95, brewing 10 oz or 1 to 2 cups, at 5.25 in H x 4.2 in W, and the Go at $49.95, brewing 8 oz or 1 cup, at 4.5 in H x 3.6 in W and 11.4 oz assembled with its drinking mug, lid, filter holder for 25 filters, stirrer, and scoop. If it lives on a counter, buy the Original. If it lives in a bag, buy the Go.

Two ounces sounds small and is not, if you drink big cups
Ten ounces against eight is the difference between one satisfying mug and one that runs out. The Original also comfortably handles a concentrate that you dilute up to a larger drink, which the Go can do too but with less headroom. If you drink a full mug of coffee in the morning, the Original ends the argument. If you brew a strong single and add hot water from the kettle anyway, the Go is fine.
AeroPress states the Go brews up to three espresso style shots or one 8 oz serving, so concentrate recipes are firmly on the table.
The mug is the actual product difference
The Go nests inside its own drinking mug with a silicone lid, and the whole kit becomes one sealed object weighing 11.4 oz. That is what makes it a travel brewer rather than a small brewer. It also carries a filter holder that takes 25 filters so you are not putting loose paper discs in a bag. Anyone who has tried to travel with an Original knows the filters are the annoying part.
Full packing method is in the AeroPress Go travel guide.
Filters and seals are not shared, so check before restocking
The Go uses its own plunger and seal part, and AeroPress prices the Go plunger with seal at $17.95 against $19.95 for the Original version. Standard paper micro-filters cover the Original at $9.95, while XL filters are a separate incompatible size. If you own more than one AeroPress, label the filter packs, because the discs look alike and the wrong one will not seat. The full parts list and prices are in AeroPress replacement parts.

FAQ
Is the AeroPress Go worth it over the Original? If you brew away from home, yes: it packs into its own mug with a lid and a holder for 25 filters and weighs 11.4 oz assembled. At home the Original brews 10 oz against the Go's 8 oz and costs $10 less.
How much coffee does the AeroPress Go make? AeroPress lists 8 oz, which is one cup, or up to three espresso style shots if you brew concentrate and dilute.
Do the AeroPress Original and Go use the same filters? The standard paper micro-filters cover the Original range, but plungers and seals are model specific and AeroPress prices them separately. Always check the model named in the listing before restocking.
