A 16oz regular coffee at Wawa has 233mg of caffeine, straight from Wawa's own published caffeine chart. A 16oz brewed coffee at 7-Eleven runs about 280mg, per Caffeine Informer. Those are the only two of the big four gas station chains with numbers we could verify. Sheetz and Circle K do not publish caffeine content, and Caffeine Informer has no entry for either chain's brewed coffee, so any specific number you see for them is a guess. This page sticks to what checks out.
Gas station coffee is stronger than most cafe coffee
The assumption is that the pot sitting on a warmer at a convenience store is weak. The data says the opposite. Caffeine Informer puts Wawa brewed coffee at an average of 290mg per 16oz, with tested samples ranging from 230mg to 350mg for that one cup size. 7-Eleven's entry works out to 17.5mg of caffeine per fluid ounce, and a 2017 lab test commissioned by BuzzFeed found samples ranging from 224mg to 357mg. For reference, that upper end is more caffeine than most 16oz specialty shop pours.
Why the spread? Batch brewing at scale is inconsistent. Different roasts on the same counter, different hold times, different water ratios store to store. Wawa's official chart reads lower than Caffeine Informer's tested average, which tells you the corporate spec and the cup in your hand are not always the same thing. Treat every number below as a solid estimate, not a lab certificate for your specific cup.

The Sheetz and Circle K problem
We went looking. Sheetz's nutrition info covers the standard facts panel but we could not find caffeine figures anywhere official, and the same goes for Circle K's brewed coffee. Neither chain has an entry in Caffeine Informer's database of over a thousand drinks. Plenty of blogs will hand you a confident milligram number for a Sheetz cold brew or a Circle K house blend anyway. None of them cite a test or an official chart, so we are not repeating them.
The practical read: both chains brew standard drip and pull standard espresso shots, and the verified chains above bracket what convenience store drip tends to test at. If you need an exact count for medical or tolerance reasons, order from a chain that publishes its numbers, or stick to a bottled drink with caffeine printed on the label.
For context, the FDA cites 400mg of caffeine a day as an amount generally not associated with negative effects in healthy adults. How caffeine affects you depends on your own tolerance and health, so treat these numbers as information, not advice.
That 400mg context matters here more than on most pages. A 24oz Wawa regular coffee is 350mg by Wawa's own chart, and a 16oz 7-Eleven cup tested as high as 357mg. One large gas station coffee can be most of a day's caffeine before you have touched an energy drink or an afternoon cold brew.

A few things worth knowing before you fill the cup
Wawa's chart holds a couple of surprises. Cold brew at 192mg per 16oz is actually lighter than the 233mg hot drip, which runs against the usual cold brew is stronger instinct. And Wawa decaf is not nothing: 45mg in a 16oz, 68mg in a 24oz. That is closer to a weak cup of regular than to zero, worth knowing if you pour decaf at 8pm expecting to sleep.
Self-serve is the other variable. At most of these stores you pour your own, so cup size discipline is entirely on you. The jump from a 12oz to a 24oz at Wawa is exactly double the caffeine, 175mg to 350mg, because it is the same brew in a bigger cup. There is no "large is only slightly stronger" curve like you get with espresso drinks that cap out at two shots.

FAQ
Which gas station coffee has the most caffeine? On verified numbers it is close. Caffeine Informer averages Wawa at 290mg per 16oz and 7-Eleven at 280mg per 16oz, with wide tested ranges that overlap. Wawa's own chart is more conservative at 233mg for a 16oz.
How much caffeine is in a 24oz Wawa coffee? 350mg, per Wawa's published beverage caffeine chart. That is most of the FDA's 400mg daily context figure in a single cup.
How much caffeine is in Sheetz or Circle K coffee? There is no verified figure. Neither chain publishes caffeine data and Caffeine Informer has no entry for either chain's brewed coffee, so treat any specific number you see elsewhere as unverified.
