Reign caffeine content: Total Body Fuel and Storm

As an Amazon Associate, Barista Life earns from qualifying purchases.

Reign Total Body Fuel has 300mg of caffeine per 16oz can, one of the highest doses in the mainstream energy aisle, per Caffeine Informer. The smaller Storm line, which used to be sold as Reign Storm, has 200mg per 12oz can, per the official Storm FAQ. Same family tree, very different doses, so check which can you are actually holding before you count it against your day.

One brand, two very different cans

Reign gets confusing because the lineup split. The original Reign Total Body Fuel is the 16oz gym-crowd can: 300mg of natural caffeine plus BCAAs, CoQ10, and electrolytes, with zero sugar and 10 calories, per the product listing. That 300mg is the number most people mean when they say "Reign."

Reign Storm was the softer 12oz "fitness and wellness" spinoff, and in May 2026 it was relaunched nationwide as a standalone brand called Storm. The same flavors (Valencia Orange, Harvest Grape, Guava Strawberry, Tropical) now sell under the Storm name at stormbev.com. The formula stayed in the same lane: each 12oz can has 200mg of caffeine, 10 calories, and zero sugar, per the Storm FAQ and the launch announcement. Per Caffeine Informer, that caffeine comes from a blend of natural caffeine, green tea extract, ginseng, guarana, and guayusa.

So the short version: big can, 300mg. Slim 12oz can, 200mg. If you shop by shelf color instead of label, that is a 100mg swing you did not plan for.

Reign and Storm caffeine by can

Drink Can size Caffeine Per fl oz
Reign Total Body Fuel 16 fl oz 300mg 18.75mg
Storm (formerly Reign Storm) 12 fl oz 200mg 16.7mg
Reign Total Body Fuel (UK and Canada) 500ml 200mg 11.8mg

Sources: Caffeine Informer (Reign), Caffeine Informer (Storm), Storm FAQ. Note the export quirk: Caffeine Informer reports that the UK and Canadian versions of Total Body Fuel are capped at 200mg per 500ml can, so the same-looking can abroad carries a third less caffeine than the US version.

For scale, Caffeine Informer lists a standard 16oz Monster at 160mg and a Red Bull at 80mg per serving. Reign Total Body Fuel roughly doubles Monster in the same size can. It also means two Reign cans in a day puts you at 600mg, well past the widely cited daily reference point below. We break down the Monster numbers in our Monster caffeine guide and the whole Red Bull lineup in the Red Bull caffeine guide.

For context, the FDA cites 400mg of caffeine a day as an amount generally not associated with negative effects in healthy adults. How caffeine affects you depends on your own tolerance and health, so treat these numbers as information, not advice.

One can of Total Body Fuel already covers three quarters of that 400mg reference. Reign's own marketing pitches it at people with a high caffeine tolerance, and that framing is fair. If you are also pulling shots on shift or drinking cold brew through the morning, the math gets tight fast. Storm at 200mg is the easier can to fit around a coffee habit, which is presumably the point of the line.

If you want to try the lineup, a Reign variety pack on Amazon is the usual cheapest way in per can.

What baristas should know before recommending it

Customers ask us about energy drinks constantly, usually framed as "how does this compare to my usual order." The honest answer for Reign is that one 16oz can outcaffeinates almost anything on a standard coffee menu, and it does it with zero sugar and 10 calories, which surprises people who assume high caffeine means high sugar. The flavor profile is candy-adjacent (White Gummy Bear, Carnival Candy, Melon Mania), so it drinks nothing like coffee.

The BCAA and CoQ10 additions are workout-marketing extras. They do not change the caffeine math, and we are not going to make claims about what they do for your gains. What matters for your day is the 300mg, where it lands in your schedule, and what else you have already had.
