Coffee inflation calculator: what your habit cost then vs now
A two cup a day habit at 15 g a cup, with a splash of milk and a spoon of sugar, cost about $100 a year in 2005 and about $259 a year in 2026 in raw ingredients. That is the same basket, priced with the Bureau of Labor Statistics average price series for each year. Set the basket to yours below and the math follows.

Which ingredient actually moved
Indexed so that 1995 equals 100 for each series, which makes the shapes comparable even though a pound of coffee and a gallon of milk are not.

Reading it honestly
These are average retail prices, not an inflation index, and they are not seasonally adjusted. Comparing 2005 dollars to 2026 dollars this way shows the change in the sticker price of the ingredients. It does not adjust for wages or for general inflation, so it is not a claim that coffee got harder to afford, only that it got more expensive.
The series also stop and start. Years with fewer than twelve published months in this range: 1995 (milk 6 months), 2007 (coffee 10 months), 2018 (coffee 6 months), 2025 (coffee 11, milk 11, sugar 11 months), 2026 (coffee 7, milk 7, sugar 7 months). Years excluded from the calculator entirely because one series has three or fewer published months, which is not an annual average: 2009, 2019. The gaps are gaps in the government data, not in this page.

FAQ
Where do the prices come from? Three Bureau of Labor Statistics average price series: APU0000717311 for ground roast coffee per pound, APU0000709112 for whole milk per gallon, and APU0000715211 for white sugar per pound, all US city average and not seasonally adjusted. They are read from the BLS average price flat files.
Why does the year list skip some years? BLS did not publish enough months of one of the series in those years for an annual average to mean anything. Rather than average one month and call it a year, those years are left out.
Is this inflation adjusted? No. It compares the actual average retail price then with the actual average retail price now. It says nothing about wages or about general inflation.
