Verify a certificate
Every Barista Life certificate carries a unique ID in the format BL-YYYY-XXXX-NNNN. If someone shows you one, you can confirm it is real.
How to verify a certificate
Email us the Certificate ID printed on the certificate. We check it against our issuance ledger and reply within 48 hours to confirm whether it is genuine and who it was issued to. Verification is a manual lookup, not an automated check, so give us a business day or two.
To verify a certificate, contact us through the contact page with the Certificate ID and the holder's name.
What the certificate means
The Home Barista Certification is an enthusiast certification from a coffee publication. It shows that the holder passed our Home Barista Exam covering ratios, grind, extraction, milk, and common fixes. It is a genuine mark of home coffee skill. It is not an accredited trade or professional credential, and we say so plainly.
The ID format
BL is Barista Life. YYYY is the year of issue. XXXX is a short random block. NNNN is the sequential issue number. Example: BL-2026-7QK4-0007.
