Nespresso hosts its user manuals as PDFs under nespresso.com/shared_res/manuals, one folder per machine. The nine below opened on 18 August 2026 and cover both systems: the Vertuo line, where the capsule is round and barcoded, and the Original line, where the capsule is the small cone. Picking the wrong system's manual is the most common mistake, because the descaling and priming procedures are completely different.

Which system do you have
Look at the capsule, not the machine. Vertuo capsules are dome shaped with a barcode printed around the rim, and the machine spins them. Original capsules are small truncated cones with no barcode, and the machine pierces and pumps through them. The warranty leaflet is not in the manual
Nespresso's own packaging contents list, printed at the front of the Vertuo manuals, names six items in the box: the coffee machine, the Nespresso welcome material, the capsules box, the safety instructions, the user manual and the warranty. The warranty is its own leaflet. That matters because Breville and De'Longhi build Nespresso machines under licence and their terms differ, which we unpack in the Nespresso warranty guide.
What the manual will not solve
