Channeling is the tax you pay for skipping distribution. The Puck Rake is a WDT tool without the aerospace cosplay: a turned beech or walnut handle, 0.4mm needles, and nothing else.
What you get:
- 0.4mm needles, thin enough to stir the bed without compacting it.
- A wood handle that parks upright in a cup by the grinder and feels like a tool, not a lab instrument.
- Replaceable needle cluster; needles are consumables, handles should not be.
Rake the grounds loose, level, tamp, and the shot stops spraying sideways from the naked portafilter. If your shots taste bitter and sour at once, distribution is the usual suspect; the full diagnosis lives in our free espresso troubleshooter.
Who this is for: anyone pulling on a single-dosing setup or fighting spritzers. Who it is not for: pressurized-basket machines, which flatten the difference.
