De'Longhi espresso machine warranty guide: two years automatic, one year manual

As an Amazon Associate, Barista Life earns from qualifying purchases.

De'Longhi gives fully automatic coffee machines (the ESAM and ECAM ranges) two years of free parts and labor, and gives everything else in the coffee lineup, including the manual BAR, EC and ECP espresso machines, drip machines and moka pots, one year of free parts and labor. Registering a coffee machine adds another year on top. Those are the numbers printed in De'Longhi's own warranty documents, not a retailer's summary.

De'Longhi warranty length by machine type

Machine type Examples Free parts and labor
Fully automatic coffee makers ESAM and ECAM series (Magnifica, Magnifica Evo, Dinamica, Eletta, Rivelia, PrimaDonna) Two (2) years
Manual espresso machines BAR, EC and ECP series (Stilosa, Dedica, La Specialista) One (1) year
Drip coffee makers and other kitchen appliances Drip machines, moka pots, kitchen appliances One (1) year
Registered coffee machine Any coffee machine registered with De'Longhi Adds 1 year to the term above, exclusions apply

Two-year figure from De'Longhi's Limited Warranty document for fully automatic coffee makers, one-year figure from the Limited Warranty document for De'Longhi and Kenwood home appliances, and the extra year from the De'Longhi US warranty page. All three fetched 18 August 2026 and linked in Sources.

What the two documents actually say

The automatic machine document is explicit: "De'Longhi Group warrants each product to be free from defects in material and workmanship. From the purchase date, our obligation under this warranty is to provide two (2) years free parts and labor on the entire unit." The home appliance document is word for word the same sentence with "one (1) year" in place of "two (2) years." That single word is the whole difference between owning a Magnifica Evo and owning a Dedica.

Both documents put the shipping split the same way: products needing repair go to an authorized De'Longhi Group service center at the owner's expense, and De'Longhi pays the return shipping. Both recommend a trackable insured method, because De'Longhi "cannot be held responsible for in-transit damage or for packages that are not delivered to us" and "lost and/or damaged products are not covered under warranty."

How to register for the extra year

De'Longhi's US warranty page carries the offer directly: "Register your Coffee Machine to Receive an additional 1 year on your warranty term," with the note that some exclusions apply and that items bought on De'Longhi.com are already registered. The page also warns that the paperwork in the box outranks the web copy: "All De'Longhi products contain warranty information either in the manual or on a separate insert in your packaging. That document may also include specific details of your warranty coverage that are not in the files below." Read the insert that came with your machine.

How to make a claim

Both warranty documents give the same contacts: US residents call 1-866-528-8323, Canadian residents call 1-888-335-6644. You ship to an authorized service center at your cost, and De'Longhi covers the return leg. Our step by step on the paperwork side is in the De'Longhi warranty claim process.

What voids it

  • Repair or alteration outside the factory. The warranty "shall not apply to any product that has been repaired or altered outside our factory."
  • Misuse, negligence or accidents.
  • Wrong power. Coverage applies only if the product is used per the factory directions and on an alternating current (AC) circuit.
  • Unauthorized sellers. The warranty covers only products bought through De'Longhi Group or an authorized reseller or distributor, and specifically does not cover products bought "through an auction, a private seller (such as E-Bay,..) or a non-authorized online reseller."
  • Geography. The warranty is valid only for products purchased, located and used in North America.
  • Consequential or incidental damages, subject to state law.

Fix it first: the messages that are not defects

Most De'Longhi warning lights are prompts, not faults, and a claim on one wastes a fortnight. Magnifica warning lights and the general alarm message decode the panel, descaling the Magnifica clears the most common cause, and leaking water covers the seal and tray faults people mistake for a broken machine.

The consumables no warranty covers

Descaler, water filters and brew group seals are owner-supplied on every De'Longhi.

FAQ

How long is the De'Longhi warranty on an espresso machine? Two years of free parts and labor on fully automatic ESAM and ECAM machines, and one year on manual BAR, EC and ECP espresso machines. Registering a coffee machine with De'Longhi adds another year, with exclusions.

Does De'Longhi cover a machine bought on eBay? No. The warranty covers only products purchased through De'Longhi Group or an authorized reseller or distributor, and it specifically excludes products bought through an auction, a private seller such as eBay, or a non-authorized online reseller.

Who pays shipping on a De'Longhi warranty repair? You pay to send the machine to an authorized service center and De'Longhi pays the return shipping. De'Longhi recommends a trackable insured method because lost or in-transit damaged products are not covered.
