The grind adjustment, done the right way
The GROUND TOO FINE message carries its own procedure and people skip half of it. De'Longhi's instruction: repeat the coffee delivery and turn the grinding dial one click clockwise toward 7 while the coffee mill is in operation. Make at least 2 coffees before judging, and if delivery is still too slow, repeat one click at a time. Turning the dial on a stopped grinder is the mistake; the burrs need to be moving to take the new setting without jamming.
The 45 minute descale is worth scheduling
Pressing ESC postpones the DESCALING NEEDED prompt but the machine keeps asking, and scale only compounds. Give it the 45 minutes with the EcoDecalk solution De'Longhi specifies and fill the tank to MAX for every rinse so the cycle registers; a short tank is how machines end up in the extra rinse loop.
When to stop
